The PR Counsel is delighted to see our latest campaign, delivered for Hancock Prospecting, live on Channel 7 and Sky News Network last night and online, to celebrate the contribution women in mining make to our national economy. The story of Hancock and the contribution of Mrs Gina Rinehart to our major industry, and her support for women in mining, is an iconic WA story. As a WA woman and daughter of a FIFO, I have been privileged to be able to create the words and pictures to tell this story. The brief was ‘just go and do it,’ demonstrating great faith in us from the client. Matt Etheridge at Flashknight Media and I started with a blank page and we finished with something truly remarkable. Setting out to not make an ad, but to tell the story of Hancock, women in WA, the generational impact of the industry that weaves WA families together and give authentic voice to the women featured to shine in their own words, while writing a scripted overlay that highlights some hard economic stats that are little told. Thank you also to Base Imagery and Mike Knight @ Location Equipment for beautiful filming. And of course, thank you to the stars of this campaign – the women of Roy Hill, Atlas Iron and Hancock Prospecting and Mrs Gina Rinehart. 

I wish I could have made a whole film with the beautiful talent, scenery and archives I had to work with, but our 12 minutes captures it. I even make a cameo ( watch closely in the gym scene).
